10.3.2010 - Ethical Trading
Here at Timesco, as well as being committed to our internal equal opportunities and ensuring we exceed ethical and legal employment requirements, we are also focused on ensuring our factories and sub-contractors follow our lead. All our manufacturing sites, either our own factories or sub-contractors’, are carefully vetted to ensure that they meet our ethical policy and that the conditions and welfare of the staff are paramount. We monitor fair pay and safe working conditions of our employees and ensure that there is no child labour used in any processes. We routinely inspect each production facility to ensure compliance as it is easy for such policies to become a ‘rubber stamp’.Most of all, our key suppliers are registered and certified under the Child Labour Elimination program, a program developed by the UN’s International Labour Organisation. The ILO was created to specifically ‘monitor and govern decent working practices throughout the world’ and, most importantly, has the power to enforce ethical trading standards, including the monitoring and prohibition of child labour.Andy Boylett, Timesco’s Operations Manager clarifies our position on ethical trading; ‘At Timesco, we take the health and welfare of our staff and the staff at our factories, as seriously as we do the health and welfare of the customers and patients that benefit from our products’.Quality is undoubtedly the common thread that ties our business together – there is an underlying commitment to the highest expectations from our products, staff and manufacturing facilities, we are proud of our commitment in this area.
